Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Recycling center changes increase efficiency

Changes at Pender County recycling centers have caused concern for some of our viewers. At the recycling centers in Hampstead, Rocky Point and Burgaw, there is now only one recycling dumpster, where there used to be four.

New Hanover Co. schools receive state library grant

Three New Hanover County Schools have been given the opportunity to enhance and expand their school’s library collection. Trask Middle School, Carolina Beach Elementary and Pine Valley Elementary schools have each received a $10,000 School Library Collection Development Grant from the North Carolina State Library.
