Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.  

Orlando Jones headlines Family Promise 25th Anniversary Low Country Boil

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Robbers beat victim ... twice

The male victim was walking eastbound on Walnut Street when he noticed two men sitting on a porch in the 800 block Walnut Street. One of the men asked the victim if he had money. He said no and kept walking. When he reached the area of Anderson and Walnut Streets, the same two men approached him.

Cops nab car thieves

A WPD officer on patrol near Wrightsville Avenue and Independence noticed a 2007 Dodge Durango driving erratically and committing a lane violation. The officer ran the tag and began to attempt a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off.

Chinese restaurant deliverer robbed on 15th Street

The victim, a delivery person for Chop Stix restaurant, was attempting to deliver food at 710 S. 15th Street when a man came out from behind the house and said he ordered the food. The man asked the victim if he had change for a $100 dollar bill.
