Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Cape Fear Singles on Meetup.com

videoWilmington singles formed an alliance on meetup.com, called the Cape Fear Singles. The group was created four years ago by six people who moved to Wilmington, not knowing a soul. Now the club has nearly four-hundred active members of all ages.

Rickenbacker pleads guilty

A New Hanover County judge is making a Wilmington serial burglar pay his dues. Alan Rickenbacker plead guilty today to more than seventy felony charges, ten of which were for breaking and entering.

Hobbs' court appearance postponed

Brett Hobbs was scheduled to appear in Brunswick County Court today, but the appearance was postponed. Hobbs was arrested last month and charged with felony larceny and conspiracy.
