Humpday Health: Gym tools for cardio and weight lifting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cardio and weight lifting are two of the key exercises that many people do, but a few tools at the gym will allow you to do both at the same time.
Weighted battle ropes are great for a full body workout that packs on the mass and burns a few calories as well.
“Most gyms have the battle ropes. Battle ropes is just a hate-love relationship because you hate to do it but the results that you get, you are going to love,” said health expert Evonne Varady.
Kettlebells are incredibly versatile in that they come in a variety of sizes and there are plenty of different workouts you can use them for.
“They were doing the kettlebell swing. She was adding squats into it. Kettlebells do come in all different sizes too, so you can start off with a five-pound. I think they go up to like a 70-pound,” said Varady.
The sled may look easy at first glance, but you’ll definitely feel the burn once you start pushing.
“Once you get into the position to push that sled, everything is on fire. The back of your hamstrings, your quads, your glutes, your core, you got your back and your shoulders all into it pushing,” said Varady.
Incorporating any of these three tools can freshen up your workout and help achieve all your fitness goals in the process.
