Season ends for Hammerheads in playoffs
Sammy Ochoa tied the game at one goal apiece early in the second half in the Wilmington Hammerheads game on Saturday night. Unfortunately Sacramento scored twice right after Ochoa scored to take all the momentum away from the visitors. The 2014 soccer season for Wilmington is now over.
Auto show attracts car lovers
The Coastal Carolina Auto Show was held Saturday at Mayfaire Town Center. Local dealerships showcased their 2015 models to the car lovers all over the southeast North Carolina region for the free event.
10th Annual Pier to Pier swim race
Saturday was the 10th Annual Pier to Pier swim race in Wrightsville beach. The course is 1.7 miles long starting at Crystal Pier ending at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier swimming into the current.
WWAY’s 5th Quarter – September 12
Friday’s 5th Quarter was action packed despite the fact we kept our eye on the weather all night long. The first half of the Hoggard game was clearly a spectator’s delight. Wilmington’s Tamera Young ends WNBA season as league runner-up; huge win for UNCW soccer
The WNBA season ended on Friday. Wilmington’s Tamera Young will have to settle this season as the league runner-up. It’s a wonderful title to have for the Laney High graduate.
