Former Hoggard punter still getting a kick at NC State

videoPunters typically don't get as much respect and notoriety as other players on a football team, but when you need to punt it sure helps to have a good one. Hoggard graduate Wil Baumann is the NC State punter. WWAY recently made the trip to Raleigh in order to catch up with Baumann. He currently ranks third in school history in career punts with one more season left of eligibility.

Jermaine Jones gets chance to shine in front of NFL scouts at NC State

videoCarter-Finley Stadium was the place to be on Monday if you wanted to see one of the best three-sport athletes to come out of New Hanover High School in recent memory. Jermaine Jones is a speedy wide receiver out of St. Augustine's in Raleigh. In fact Jones is one of the fastest guys you'll ever see on a football field. He hopes his speed will catch the attention of NFL scouts.

2014 ACC football schedule released

The 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference football schedule released Wednesday is now complete. It features a nationally televised Thursday night game between Duke and North Carolina. NC State football players need to be at their best early. The Wolfpack opens league play with defending national champion Florida State followed by Clemson.

AP photographer Martin collapses at Chick-Fil-A Bowl, dies

Dave Martin, a longtime Associated Press photographer based in Montgomery, Ala., died after collapsing on the Georgia Dome field at the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Tuesday night. Martin was 59.
