Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Brunswick County's Toys for Tots brought Christmas early for Boiling Spring Lakes families

It's never too early for Santa Claus, even if the date says December 18th. However, earlier today, the Brunswick County U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" dropped off a number of toys for kids, including bikes and scooters. Santa is arriving a week early this Christmas, making sure everyone in boiling spring lakes gets to experience the joy of the holidays. The joy that these kids and little Millie Braden have that the holiday brings.

Trailing North Carolina Supreme Court candidate asks the court to get involved in his race

Usually the next step for a dissatisfied trailing candidate seeking to prevent the board from issuing a certification of election to their rival is to appeal to Wake County Superior Court, but Griffin went to the Supreme Court instead and asked the justices to rule by this coming Monday on his request to prevent a certificate from being issued to Riggs and to suspend the 10-day deadline to file an appeal in Wake County court.
