Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Dr. Beach's Top 10 List is out; NY tops the list

Coopers Beach, with pristine white sand gently sloping toward a shoreline of lapping waves, convenient parking and amenities and nary a gum wrapper in sight, has been selected as America's best beach in an annual survey released Friday to coincide with the start of the summer vacation season.

Three caught casing for empty homes

The caller reported that several men were knocking on doors in the area of 23rd Street and Keaton Avenue. If anyone answered the door, they were saying their car was broken down. But the reporting party believed the men actually were casing houses to find out who was home.

Pizza delivery man mugged, has to strip down to underwear

The male victim reported that he was delivering a pizza to the listed address. When he knocked on the apartment door, a man answered wearing a blue bandana around his face. The victim said the masked man took him to a back bedroom and made him undress down to his underwear.
