Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.

video During a two car drag race, on dual lanes, a race car operated by Joseph Wactor of Brooklyn, NY, lost control and struck the guardrail. The vehicle was traveling approximately 130- 135 mph when it hit the guardrail, and the vehicle started disintegrating. The vehicle’s engine was thrown approximately 100 feet and landed on a bystander, who was standing along the Harrells Raceway’s chain link fence.

Tow truck owner rips off car dealer says investigators

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are searching for a former contract employee of John’s Auto Sales in Shallotte. Trent Delacruz Mufuro, owner of A&J Transport, Towing and Recovery obtained $62,350 worth of property belonging to the owner of John’s Auto Sales over a year’s time period while contracting work according to investigators.
