Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Parents voice concerns about school redistricting at Tuesday's meeting

Since a new school is being built in the northern part of the county, about 2,400 students will be moved around, and these parents aren't happy about where their kids might go.

A lawyer for victims of Bernard Madoff's fraud says Madoff told him during a 4½-hour jailhouse interview in North Carolina exactly how the fraud took place. The 71-year-old Madoff was brought two weeks ago to the Butner Federal Correctional Complex about 45 miles northwest of Raleigh to begin serving a 150-year sentence.

Law enforcement steps up attempt to stop local gang crimes
