Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.  

Orlando Jones headlines Family Promise 25th Anniversary Low Country Boil

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Hobbs' court appearance postponed

Brett Hobbs was scheduled to appear in Brunswick County Court today, but the appearance was postponed. Hobbs was arrested last month and charged with felony larceny and conspiracy.

WPD statistics review shows burglaries and larcenies up

The Wilmington Police Department spent part of Thursday morning crunching numbers in hopes of making our streets safer. In it's monthly crime statistics review, lieutenants from each of the city's six districts presented data analyzing rises and drops in certain types of crimes.

Interpretive panel explains more about the Dil I

The Coast Guard cutter Diligence now has a better-explained place in Wilmington's history. Today the commander of the Diligence helped unveil a new interpretive panel at the Cape Fear Museum that provides information about the Dil I.
