Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Budget deficit may increase property taxes

The City of Wilmington is faced with some difficult decisions about how to correct its budget situation. The city is $6 million over budget due to a mistake New Hanover County made calculating the tax rate.

Barack Obama says he knows the marathon struggle for the Democratic nomination has caused "bruised feelings on both sides" but predicts the party will unite by November. And his campaign is dropping broad hints that it's time for the 270 remaining unaligned party figures known as superdelegates to get off the fence and settle the nomination.

Taxi fares going up

video Wilmington City Council voted to add a one-dollar fee to taxi fares. The surcharge will provide temporary relief for drivers who are responsible for filling up their cars.

N.C. sees huge voter turn-out

The polls have closed across North Carolina. Lines and waits greeted some voters this morning. Record turn-out was expected as North Carolina votes in a presidential primary that matters for the first time in at least a generation.

Voters cast ballots early

As soon as the doors opened this morning people flowed in. Most were prepared for long lines and were pleasantly surprised at how quick things went.

Community helps students with field trip
