Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.

Gerald Wallace had 34 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to a 122-to-102 win over Washington tonight.

Wilmington man found dead in backstreet alley

Around five o'clock Saturday afternoon Wilmington police responded to a report of a body found in an alley off of 16th Street near Nun Street. The victim was 24-year-old Ronald Nathan Conyers Jr. Investigators say they found Conyers's body just three blocks from where he lived.

Man pleads guilty to drunken driving

A man who's been slipping through the cracks of North Carolina's legal system for more than 20 years pleaded guilty Tuesday to drunken driving. John Dickinson has used at least six different identities with law enforcement and has failed to appear in court at least 10 times. But Tuesday he was forced to show up.
