Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Teen girl arrested, suspected of carjacking

A 16-year old girl is in jail Monday. She's one of two suspects in a carjacking over the weekend. Police say a woman matching Alicia Ramos's description car-jacked a man at gunpoint on Rankin Street Sunday morning.

Thunderstorms knock out emergency lines

Strong thunderstorms wreaked havoc on the Port City this weekend, cutting connections to some vital emergency services including 911. Someone's been stealing the undies at Victoria's Secret stores in the Raleigh area. Police say thieves have stolen almost $35,000 worth of underwear, perfume and other merchandise from Victoria's Secret stores in the Raleigh area since March.

Towns along N.C. 24 crack down on speeders

This month, the Swansboro Police Department issued 57 traffic-related citations. Chief Ed Parish says roughly 40 percent of those were written for speeding, and he says if had more officers dedicated solely to traffic law enforcement, that number would be greater.
