Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

St. Mary Catholic School expands facilities

Middle school students at the downtown St. Mary Catholic School returned to expanded facilities Monday. With grants from the PPD corporation and other private donors, the school renovated the second floor of its historic Tileston building.

With the start of school in Columbus County, many people were concerned about what the day would bring. This after hateful, racist fliers geared towards local schools were found all over the Town of Evergreen Sunday.

Charlotte, Raleigh step up water use restrictions

With rainfall in Raleigh more than two inches below normal for August, city officials are implementing stricter rules beginning tomorrow. The rules also apply to customers in Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon.
