Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Residents, authorities meet to stop Creekwood violence

videoRecent violence in the Creekwood community is keeping City leaders motivated to get the area cleaned up. The organizer of the event says one of the main topics of Wednesday's meeting is the violence in the area. In May a 17-year-old was shot and killed in the neighborhood.

The name of the plane is Carolina Girl. She was built in 1942 and originally used in World War II as a military training plane.

Troubleshooters: Navassa Animal Control

videoSherri Jones called our troubleshooters team recently after a sick dog wandered onto her property. Jones lives in Navassa and says she couldn't get anyone to help. A town police officer even told her just to bury the dog if it died.
