Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Family continues to search for missing woman

Her sister is reaching out to the community for help. A picture of Allison Foy has been plastered on local buildings, telephone polls and web sites since her disappearance a year ago.

Unsettling news from NASA

There is unsettling news from NASA today as the space agency prepares to send the shuttle endeavor into space next month. One report says a saboteur damaged a NASA computer and another says astronauts were cleared for liftoff -- even though they were drunk on duty.

The deadline is looming for state lawmakers to approve a final budget for next year. The $20 billion State budget proposal could bring about several changes. The temporary quarter cent sales tax increase will likely become permanent.

Drivers now cannot make a left into the shopping center because of a new center median. The median is designed to allow for extra traffic flow that will be generated by the new Home Depot, opening soon.
