Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

WPD increases reward on unsolved murder

Wilmington police have increased the reward amount in the city's only unsolved murder this year. The police department and CrimeStoppers are offering $10,000 to anyone who has information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing Ronald Conyers.

Walk to Overcome Hunger

Many local residents showed their support for a worthy cause Sunday, by putting on their walking shoes. The 28th annual "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty" or "Crop Walk" drew a crowd of more than a hundred people to raise awareness for hunger relief.

NAACP: Goal is movement, not moment
