Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Wilmington's sewer repair project could be on fast-track

We now know when Wilmington's sewer repair project should be completed. The State and City approved a contract that outlines a plan to fix the troubled northeast interceptor. The special order of consent contract requires the City to finish repairs to the sewer system by June of next year. Otherwise, the state will impose a fine of $1,000 per day.

Man arrested for using counterfeit money

A Wilmington man is in jail this morning for trying to use counterfeit money in a downtown Wilmington bar. Police say 32-year-old Antonio Lentini tried to pay for a drink at the liquid room around 1:30 Sunday morning with a counterfeit $100 bill.
