On Tuesday on WWAY we featured five different basketball games at five different venues. We checked out action in Rocky Point between the undefeated East Bladen girls vs. Trask. We checked out the undefeated West Brunswick boys against Topsail. We also featured New Hanover-Laney, Harrells-Coastal Christian along with a wilder than wild finish in the Ashley-Hoggard boys basketball game. Full story...

The undefeated West Brunswick Trojans continued their dream season on Tuesday in front of a standing room only gymnasium in Shallote against arch-rival South Brunswick in boys basketball. We had game highlights of that along with Ashley's upset over New Hanover in girls basketball, New Hanover's one point win over Ashley in boys basketball along with a stop at Coastal Christian High. Trask defeated Wallace-Rose Hill by one point last week in boys basketball. On Monday the two teams squared off. Once again, it was close and we stuck around for the dramatic finish. North Brunswick has never lost to Wilmington Christian in either boys or girls basketball, but the Patriots certainly gave the Scorpions a run for their money on Monday. Full story...

It was colorful. It was different. On Friday's Full Court Press the entire West Brunswick boys basketball team joined us live in the WWAY studio. The Trojans are now 18-0 on the season. They accepted our invitation for their special live appearance, but the invite hinged on West Brunswick beating Laney on Friday night in Buctown. We also featured victories from Hoggard, Ashley, Whiteville and Northside along with boys and girls action from Harrells-Cape Fear Academy. Full story...

The UNCW women's basketball team had one of their better efforts of the season on Thursday night. The Seahawks held off Elon at Trask Coliseum. In high school basketball we showcased the South Columbus-West Columbus doubleheader. South won both games, but it appears senior standout Leroy Miller may be out for the season with a shoulder injury. Full story...

We had our cameras out and about on Wednesday night. The Laney boys overcame a second half deficit to beat Topsail. The West Bladen boys held off East Bladen in backyard rivalry contest. The East Bladen girls continued their undefeated season by holding West Bladen to a mere 5 points. Check out our game action from each of these. Full story...

The West Brunswick boys basketball team is now 17-0 after an impressive victory on Tuesday night against North Brunswick High. Ty Hill led the undefeated Trojans with 17 points. Saadiq Johnson and Gray Cheers added 16. Check out our game highlights from Leland. Full story...
