Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.

Man arrested for having gun, fake credentials

When Perritt Alford picked up his child from school on Wednesday a student noticed a gun on his belt. Agents searched Alford's house and found several fraudulent US Marshal and police badges, IDs, and other items.

Attorney General warns of foreclosure scam

The state Attorney General's office has a warning. The warning comes after a company in Florida offered foreclosure assistance to some North Carolina residents, but did little or nothing to help them.

Students get doses of reality, mad science

Some Wilmington eighth graders got a dose of reality Friday. The Reality Store opened Friday morning at Williston Middle School. A couple of miles away at Eaton Elementary School mad scientists took over.
