The season is over for the Carolina Panthers. The San Francisco 49ers advance in the playoffs. WWAY's Chasity Melvin was honored in Cary on Saturday by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association for being of the best athletes in the state. Teams are starting to fall fast out of the state football playoffs. This does not include Hoggard or Whiteville though. On Friday night Hoggard defeated New Hanover in round two of the playoffs. Whiteville took care of business against Lakewood. We had postgame reaction from both of those affairs.
