Former UNCW basketball standout Brett Blizzard returned to Italy several months ago to play pro basketball after spending the previous year in Wilmington. Last year's WWAY Full Court Press co-host just led his Italian team to their second consecutive victory on Sunday.

The UNC Wilmington Seahawks certainly had their chances down the stretch,both the men's team and the women's team. Unfortunately Buzz Peterson's squad wasn't able to knock off George Mason on Saturday. On Sunday Cynthia Cooper-Dyke's team lost a close one to Old Dominion.

The UNC Wilmington men's basketball team snapped a four game losing streak on Saturday night against William & Mary. The Seahawks are now 9-14 overall and 5-8 in conference play. Suspended Seahawk KK Simmons attended the game. He cheered from the bench and watched the Seahawks shoot 71% in the second half.

Freshman guard K.K. Simmons has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, second-year UNCW men's basketball head coach Buzz Peterson announced Friday.

The Towson Tigers hadn't won a men's college basketball game since December 29, 2010. The Tigers fortune changed on Saturday. Towson snapped a 41 game losing streak against the UNC Wilmington Seahawks.

The George Mason Patriots defeated the UNCW Seahawks on Monday night. It was the fourth win in a row for George Mason. Buzz Peterson's UNCW team returns home on Wednesday for a CAA game against Old Dominion at Trask Coliseum.

The Old Dominion women's basketball team had beaten UNCW 42 times in a row until Sunday afternoon. Cynthia Cooper-Dyke's team beat ODU on the road on Sunday. Buzz Peterson's UNCW men's basketball team also picked up a road win this weekend.
