Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Governor candidates square off in debate

There are seven candidates vying for the North Carolina Governor's seat, and most of them debated last night at Cape Fear Community College in a forum sponsored by WWAY NewsChannel 3. Candidates addressed the issues of illegal immigration, the economy and the environment.

Process underway to replace Hewett

Brunswick County is less than a month away from having a new sheriff. State law says that the party of the former sheriff will decide the next sheriff. Because Ron Hewett is a Democrat, the Brunswick County Democratic Party will be choosing the new sheriff. But not without asking for the public's input.

As thousands packed into Washington Nationals stadium to see Benedict XVI, students at St. Mary Catholic School in Wilmington gathered around a computer screen, to watch streaming video of the Pope's first U.S. visit.
